Thread lifts and dermal fillers are becoming an ever more popular treatment for patients who are looking to boost facial tissue and improve facial structures. The supporting tissue of the cheek weakens and starts to sag, facial fat is lost, the jawline that used to be firm and tight forms jowls at the edges of the mouth that drift down towards the chin, and the lower face and neck sags. This sagging or dropping action of the facial and neck tissues is referred to by doctors as ptosis. To get technical, this sagging or drooping action of the tissue is referred to by professionals as “ptosis” (pronounced “toe-sis”).

Traditionally this would require a plastic surgeon to provide a facelift; however, there is now a minimally invasive treatment that can lift without surgery to lift, tighten, contour, and suspend the sagging tissues of the face and neck using thread lifting – so, say farewell to loose skin and a hidden jaw line. The team at Peppermint can help transform your face.

Benefits of Thread Lifts:

1. Minimal invasiveness: Thread lifting is not invasive surgery, and therefore there is minimal recovery time for patients. Thread lifts are performed using tiny needles to insert fine threads into the skin and facial tissues. There is no cutting or removal of skin, so the procedure is much less invasive than a traditional facelift. Additionally, local anaesthetic ensures that the procedure is pain free.

2. Quick recovery: Because the procedure is so minimally invasive, recovery is quick and easy. Apart from minimal temporary numbness, most patients feel fine and well enough to return to their normal activities within a few days, and facial tissues should begin to feel normal again. From the moment treatment begins to the end of your treatment, our experts will do everything they can to ensure minimal down time is required post-treatment. Your designated practitioner will talk you through any care you must take after your procedure.

3. Natural-looking results: Silhouette soft thread lifts produce very natural-looking results. The subtle lifting skin tightening effect can take years off your appearance without looking artificial or “done.”

4. Long-lasting results: Thread lifts can provide long-lasting results, suspend sagging facial, and typically last for several years. During the first year, elastin and collagen production are stimulated and can create effects that last 2 or 3 years. As with any treatment, though, results will vary per person.

5. Cost-effective: Thread lifts are a more cost-effective option than traditional facelifts.

Even a few mm can make a big difference in thread lift treatment. If you’re considering a PDO thread lift, contact our office today to schedule a free consultation at your nearest clinic. We’ll be happy to answer any questions regarding your non-surgical facelift and any other procedures that you fancy like our lip fillers. These all work together beautifully to enhance your features and boost your confidence.

What Does The Entire Process Look Like?

A full facial consultation would need to be conducted on you first prior to any treatment you receive. This gives us the chance to discuss all of the options that are available to you and will be given all of the information to make an informed decision. Any concerns or anxieties will be alleviated here. During your consultation, we will capture clinical photographs for your records to show before and after results.

The whole treatment takes up to an hour. We will start by cleansing your skin with specifically chosen skincare products and will draw guide marks. Once we numb the area of treatment using local anaesthetic, your face will feel numb and your mouth may be asymmetrical for a few hours – just like if you were receiving any dental work like dental implants. Please refrain from chewing or drinking hot liquids until your face has fully regained sensation.

The threads are then applied by our practitioner and inserted under the skin to have the desired effect.

We use the following materials for the procedure:

The threads themselves are called ‘PDO’ which stands for polydioxanone. This specific material has been clinically proven to be bio-compatible and stimulate the growth of collagen and elastin. They are also fully biodegradable.
