What Is A Veneer?
Veneers are made from a thin moulding which is custom made from porcelain. This moulding is carefully crafted, and then fitted onto the front surface of a tooth. Veneers are specifically designed to mimic the exact size, colour and shape of your teeth, and this then creates a very natural look.
Do Veneers Work?
Veneers are a great quick and effective long-lasting solution to teeth which may be either stained, chipped, misshapen or crooked. Additionally, they can be used to cover gaps in teeth where orthodontic treatment may not be a suitable solution.
If stained teeth are a big concern of yours, then veneers could be a great solution. This is because the porcelain used in dental veneers can be altered to use a very precise shade, providing your teeth with the right colour to improve any decolourisation.
High Quality Dental Veneers in Glasgow
Dental veneers are thin facings which are bonded to the natural tooth to improve their appearance, shape and colour. These can be used if your teeth are discoloured, twisted or misshapen. Due to their appearance and advantages, dental veneers are one of our most popular treatments.
They are specially designed in order to cover up the appearance of the most common teething problems, which include stained or discoloured teeth, or teeth which are chipped or damaged. Our dental veneers are carefully placed onto your existing teeth, covering up the
Porcelain veneers are the most requested form of cosmetic dentistry here in our Glasgow dental practice. They are designed to mask the poor appearance of stained, discoloured and chipped teeth. Imagine your porcelain veneer is like a false nail, cemented onto your existing tooth, brightening and whitening your smile.
Traditionally they were mostly used for the front six teeth in the upper jaw. However these days we see far more patients who expect their shiny white smile to extended further than that and to look more natural.
Laboratory Made Veneers
Teeth are prepared by the dentist and an impressions is taken and sent to the laboratory. The technician in the laboratory, under the prescription from the dentist, constructs the dental veneers in Glasgow. They are returned to the dentist to be tried on and fitted to the teeth at a separate appointment.
Same Day Dental Veneers
Same Day Veneers are made from white filling which has been treated by a laser to give a highly glossy surface and they come in different sizes which are then adapted to the individual, no impressions, no temporaries, and only one appointment in Glasgow. We use a system called Edelweiss.
How Are My Veneers Fitted?
At Peppermint, we understand that each and every veneer we fit will be unique to each client. The first step to having your veneer fitted is to book a consultation with one of our professional dental surgeons. Once your consultation is booked, and it’s been decided that a dental veneer is the best option for your teeth, your unique veneer will be created using a thin layer of enamel, and then attached to your teeth seamlessly.
After this has been created, an impression of your mouth is taken in order to ensure that your veneer fits your teeth perfectly. Finally, the Veneer will be attached, and adjusted if necessary. All done!
Caring for your Veneers
In order for your Veneers to last as long as possible, it’s important to ensure you take best care of them. The best way to care for your veneers is the same way you would care for your old teeth. Brush and floss regularly, and make sure that you get regular dental and hygienist appointments!
