New and anxious patients are welcome to have a guided tour around our practice, relax in our lounge area and have a chat about dental treatment with no obligation. During your cosmetic treatment we can provide you with the music of your choice, if it helps you to relax. We also offer sedation for nervous patients if you feel that you need it.
We are an NHS & Childsmile practice
Childsmile is a national programme designed to improve the oral health of children in Scotland and reduce inequalities both in health and access to dental services.
The programme is also designed to welcome the children to the dental environment from a young age to promote dental health and reduce dental decay. From six months of age, dental appointments are made for the child on a regular basis.
Extended duty dental nurses (EDDN’s) are trained in oral health promotion and fluoride varnish application to support the dental team to provide Childsmile care. This includes oral health advice, weaning advice, teething advice and toothbrush instruction. We also provide free dental packs, twice yearly fluoride varnish applications to children’s teeth from 2 years of age and regular check ups from 18 months old.
Families can book an appointment directly at the practice or by referral from a dental health support worker.
All treatment that is clinically necessary in your dentist’s opinion to protect and maintain good oral health is available on the NHS. This means the NHS provides any treatment that you need to keep your mouth, teeth and gums healthy and free of pain, including: dentures, crowns and bridges.
